Fortune's Weave battle systems explained
The launch overview describes a tactical RPG where turn order is only part of the puzzle. This reference turns Nintendo's system descriptions into a useful pre-battle checklist without inventing optimal classes or a tier list.
Before you commit a turn
- Check ranges, nearby allies, and the enemy that can punish the destination square.
- Choose the tactical purpose of the action: removal, positioning, setup, or survival.
- Look at HP before using a Blaze Art and at the Blaze Gauge before creating a Burst.
- When the position is unclear, use a limited rewind to test the alternative line.
Mechanics at a glance
Positioning
Distance, attack reach, matchups, and ally placement are core tactical considerations.
Classes and equipment
Nintendo confirms character classes, weapons, magic, armor, and special attacks as part of the tactical layer.
Blaze Arts
Signature moves consume HP. Use the outcome of the turn, not only immediate damage, to judge their value.
Blaze Gauge
At halfway the gauge grants a power boost; fully filling it triggers Burst.
Burst
Burst ends the bonus and cuts the hero’s maximum HP in half. Plan around the drawback before pushing a gauge too far.
Turn rewind
A limited rewind gives players room to try a different tactical line.
Between battles matters
Dagsion preparation includes recruiting allies, improving Blessings at temples, training, and building bonds at inns. The world map adds quests, resources, roaming enemies, and dungeons. The practical question is not simply “what battle is next?” but “which preparation action best serves the next battle?”
Pending verification
Class lists, individual Blaze Arts, exact Burst calculations, recruitment conditions, difficulty interactions, and tier lists need confirmed game evidence. They should not be inferred from a screenshot, a leak, or the popularity of a search term.
